The Halau Hula Pu'uwai O Aloha
a Traditional School of Hawaiian Hula

Living Aloha through Hula
the Hawaiian Sacred Dance of the Heart

A PRIVATE HULA 'OHANA MEMBERSHIP GROUP

This group is exclusively for any wahine (woman) who is serious and committed to a more in depth study of the Hawaiian Culture and Living Aloha through Hula.

WHATEVER YOUR ETHNICI HERITTG OR DOGMA,
Hawaiian Hula provides a way for you to interpret the world that you occupy more fully and authentically in the way you perceive it. And it can inform you of the positive way in which you regard your body, no matter the size or shape, as an instrument capable of describing the beauty of creation. In this way, it reveals the sacred in all things.

THE HALAU HULA PU'UWAI O ALOHA MEMBERSHIP IS AN OPPORTUNITY

to be in a hula "wa'a"/canoe with other hula sisters under the direction of Hula Instructor, Kaleo Nahenahe Wheeler.  We each sit firmly in our place in the wa'a, paddling the waters of life together through weekly classes, access to the library of hulas taught (words, translation, music, videos), study in exploring the deeper esoteric meaning of each hula, a private Facebook group, first choice and discounts for all workshop seats and retreats and private sessions.

KALEO HAS BEEN STUDYING AND LEARNING SACRED HULA AND HAWAIIAN SPIRITUALITY FOR OVER 30 YEARS WITH MASTER TEACHING IN HAWAI'I

She was given permission to teach and share what has been given to her with others here on the Mainland by creating this Halau (a traditional school of Hula) that is now physically located a the River House in the Glendale Shoals area of Spartanburg SC.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS HALAU IS TO HELP IN BRINGING AN AWARENESS AND RESPECT FOR THIS ANCIENT INDIGENOUS SPIRITUAL CULTURE

that is grounded in a system of living, called Aloha -- and that is so misunderstood in the modern western culture in today's world. Aloha is grounded in living every day and every moment  in positivity, loving kindness, compassion, gratitude and joy; with Hula, as their ancient storytelling, embodying this in the stories in each hula. Hula is called the Living Language of Hawai'i, the glue that holds the culture together, and one of the most important and sacred parts of their culture and tradition.

WE ARE SO BLESSED AND FORTUNAE THAT THESE MASTER TEACHERS OF THE HAWAIIAN CULTURE ARE NOW SHARING THIS WITH US HERE OFF-ISLAND IN OUR WESTERN WORLD, TO BE ABLE TO FINALLY COME TO KNOW AND RESPECT WHO THE HAWAIIAN PEOPLE ARE AND THE WORLD THEY LIVE IN.

In having the true meaning of Aloha available to us in today's world, it can also help us in finding our way forward to create our desired experiences of love and peace they we are all yearning for today.

In person classes and trainings are held at the Halau in Spartanburg, and some online classes on Zoom are also available.
